The LG Optimus 4X HD Android smartphone will be released in the UK in June of this year.
The quad core Android device was announced at the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona earlier this year, but was scheduled to be released first in Korea, and then the UK 'later this year'.
Now, according to Know Your Mobile, the smartphone will land in the UK either in June or early July.
'We've had an early review sample in,' explained the source. 'It's confirmed for the UK, pricing is still a bit up in the air and expected arrival is late June, early July.'
The release date is only for the SIM-free launch of the device - there has been no word yet if any networks will be taking on the LG Optimus 4X HD and offering the device on a contract.
The LG Optimus 4X HD features a quad core 1.5GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, and runs Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich. The device also boasts 1GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. The new handset is just 8.9mm thin and has a 4.7in True HD IPS display, with a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels.
