Google Maps For Android Offers Indoor Walking Directions

Google Maps for Android 6.7 has been unleashed, now with added indoor walking directions and various discount and suchlike offers. For the moment, these are for US users, and those from Japan in the case of the directions.

The Google Offers integration includes deals on everything from city tours to restaurants. The offers can be instantly redeemed, or saved for later. Users can also opt-in to be notified when a new offer pops up near them.

Indoor maps were launched late last year in the US and Japan, and Google notes that many businesses have been adding their floor plans to the system since then. From now on, participating businesses will benefit from indoor directions, so you can find your way to where you need to be in huge venues. Pretty handy indeed.

Along with these new additions, the company has also implemented Google Business Photos. These are panoramic, 360 degree shots which can be viewed on your mobile to get a sense of what a store or venue looks like inside, alongside the usual Street View peeking.

These 360 degree panoramas are available on the "See Inside" section, on the Place page of select businesses. And of course, if you like a look of the place and take a trip over, there's no chance of getting lost inside anymore.
