To say that HTC and its partners have been very aggressive price wise ever since the Galaxy S3 was announced is certainly an understatement.
The company's flagship device, the HTC One X matches the Galaxy S3 on most counts and yet can be had for much less. Phones4U for example is selling the white version for £36 a month on a 12 month contract.
That's a total cost of ownership of £432, roughly what you'd pay for the phone by itself (albeit unlocked and unbranded).
The contract, available from Vodafone, comes with 300 minutes, 3000 texts, 500MB free allowance and 12 months Wi-Fi capped at 500MB.
Like the Galaxy S3, the HTC One X has a 1,280 x 720 pixels capacitive display, a quad core processor (HTC uses the Nvidia Tegra 3), 1GB RAM and an eight-megapixel camera, Bluetooth 4.0, a microUSB port and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
The biggest difference though - other than the design is the fact that the HTC One X has no microSD card slot but comes with 32GB on-board storage rather than 16GB for the S3.
Worth mentioning as well that Dropbox will give 50GB worth of online data to S3 owners and only 25GB for One X ones. The offer is valid for two years.
