Apple And HTC Are Ordered To Settle Their Dispute

The U.S. District Court of Delaware has ordered Apple and HTC to start settlement talks, to end their legal differences. The meeting is now scheduled for the 28th of August.

The recent court order is similar to the previous decision, regarding Apple's legal fight with Samsung and the Chinese company Proview.

This court decision comes a day after US Customs blocked shipments of HTC's flagship One X because of an alleged patent infringement. Now, the court has asked the companies to sit down and talk out their differences.

The court order states that all the participants at these settlement talks have to be decision makers with: " full authority to act on behalf of the parties, including the authority to negotiate a resolution of the matter and to respond to developments during the mediation process."

The court ‘"expects the ‘parties' full and good faith cooperation with the mediation process" and "encourages all participants to keep an open mind in order to reassess their previous positions and to find creative means for resolving the dispute."
