The late Steve Jobs would have reshaped more industries and parts of our lives, if he had the time - according to one of the people who knew the former CEO of Apple. He wanted to redesign not only television, but also bring ground breaking innovations to the car industry.
Mickey Drexler, the CEO of J.Crew, explained in an interview at Fast Company's Innovation Uncensored conference that Steve Jobs dreamed of an iCar. "It would've been probably 50 per cent of the market. He never did design it", stated Drexler.
Despite the fact that Steve Jobs never designed the iCar concept, Apple is still looking to find ways to integrate iDevices into our vehicles. Analysts predict Apple will have a say into the auto industry and will bring some of its latest technology into this arena.
Tim Bajarin, president of Creative Strategies, risks predictions about the cars of the future. "I think smart vehicles are going to end up with a tablet-like feature built in. It won't be a tablet per se, but it will be a screen that will be tied to the product in the market."
Apple could also develop custom tablets for specific companies in the auto industry. These tablets could be integrated into a car's dashboard and become the "brains" of smart cars.
