It's been a busy week for Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg - he celebrated his 28th birthday on Monday, his company went public on Friday, and to end on a high, married his girlfriend of nine years, Priscilla Chan, in a low-key ceremony at the couple's house last Saturday.
Inviting 100 guests to attend what they thought would be a party for Chan's graduation from the University of California's San Francisco School of Medicine, attendees were then told that they were not party guests, but wedding guests.
Zuckerberg gave his new bride a simple ruby ring he had designed himself, with guests dining on food from the couple's favourite Palo Alto restaurants with chocolate mice for dessert - which according to one guest, was what the couple had on their first date.
The pair met in 2004 when studying at Harvard, round about the time Zuckerberg began Facebook as a dormroom project.
And what did Zuckerberg do to celebrate the happy event? Posted the happy news on Facebook, of course.
"Mark added a life event to May 19, 2012 on his timeline: Married Priscilla Chan," the page's activity feed said.
Over 280,000 people 'liked' this update - with numerous comments such as this accompanying the exciting news:
"Balls. Now I'm the only unmarried Zuckerberg..." said Zuckerberg's sister, Arielle.
On behalf of ITPP, we'd like to wish the newlyweds a huge congratulations!
