It has only been launched in February and is already available in bargain bins; meet the Sony Xperia S, the company's top of the range handset (at least in the UK) and one which can be had from O2 (via BuyMobilePhones) for a mere £18.5 per month, that's a total cost of ownership of £444.
Not surprisingly, the contract bundle is not alluring. You only get 100 minutes, unlimited texts, 100MB data browsing and priority moments. But the deal would allow someone with an existing O2, Tesco Mobile or Giff-Gaff contract to essentially grab a high end smartphone on a two year contract.
As for the Xperia S itself, it comes with a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 1GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage, a massive 4.3in LED-backlit display with a 1,280 x 720 pixels resolution (which means that it has a higher pixel density than the iPhone 4S), a 12-megapixel rear camera and Sony Mobile BRAVIA engine. Why not check our initial impressions preview of the handset.
It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread although an update to Ice Cream Sandwich will be available later this year. Why not check our coverage of the Sony Xperia S.
