Android users of HulloMail's SmartVoicemail app can now benefit from Scribe, a voice-to-text transcription technology.
HulloMail recently released Get The Gist, the first Scribe application for iPhone users, and now the technology has become available for Android users.
Consumers will get a 10 second 'snapshot' of their voicemails transcribed into text in the app, giving an indication of what the voicemail is concerning, before even listening to it
The voicemail to text transcriptions are completely automated and are created in partnership with Nuance, the creator of the Dragon Dictation application.
"We have received some great feedback on the new Scribe technology from iPhone users and so are now pleased to extend the transcription service to Android users," Andy Munarriz, founder and CEO of HulloMail said.
"This launch follows many months of testing various 'fully'-automated transcription services that have fallen short of the mark. However, in Nuance we have found a partner that provides a balance of accuracy and quality of service for a highly competitive rate. And because it's fully automated, we have been able to keep the cost as low as possible for our subscribers."
