Dell Drops Colour Laser Printer To £55.59

The Dell 1250c is the cheapest brand new colour laser printer on the market and it even comes with free delivery (but alas no USB cable) and there are further cost cutting steps made by Dell.

These include a fused drum and fuser unit which last the lifetime of the printer, cutting down on the bill of material and transportation (the printer is the world's smallest A4 colour laser-class model), the paper tray can hold only 150 sheets and the internal memory hits 64MB.

Still with a resolution of 600 x 600 dpi, one year next business day service, up to 10 pages per minute and Dell Clear View LED technology (which includes a small intelligent self-scanning print head and enhanced imaging controller), the 1250c is a capable entry level workhorse.

But like for razors and blades, expect to pay a significant premium for the consumables which costs almost the same as the printer itself. Swapping toners cost nearly £200 according to Ebuyer, which means that you're probably better off just buying a new printer.
