Nokia Reading - Hands-On Walkthrough In Pictures

ITProPortal has attended a Nokia press event of late, where the on-shelve date for the Nokia 610 mobile phone was announced. We also captured at the same event, a hands on walk through in images, of the new Kindle-esque app that is exclusively for Lumia devices.

This app was initially unveiled at Mobile World Congress this year and now adds to the growing portfolio of Windows Phone software, which can solely be found on Nokia Lumia handsets: such as Nokia Music and Nokia Maps.

Nokia Reading has only just become available in the Windows Marketplace for the 900, 800, 710 and 610 Lumia mobiles, while offering access to a thousand of eBooks.

The app allows the user to find, buy and read electronic books, such as The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo; One Day; and The Adventures Of Sherlock Holmes, with more being added all the time.

The pictures below highlight the four key-screens of the app, with the books on the device, the bookstore, book list and quick access to all of these sections.

The following images are the most recently read books in the app; an opened book, along with the options menu for Nokia Reading, with settings, contents, pin to start and sharing a book feature.

The settings menu displays the font size, brightness, night mode and Orientation lock - for landscape and portrait. The next picture shows a book being read in night mode, followed by the screen font options and the chapter headings, which can be clicked upon for fast access to parts of the book.

The last range of pictures contain the app pinned to the home live-tile screen, with a book also pinned, plus the last ‘read' part of that book, being shown. There is an upcoming part of the app shown next that brings in rss feeds, and other news content.
