Versus Touchpad Is Cheapest Capacitive Display ICS Android Tablet Yet

Online retailer Morgan Computers has put the Versus Touchpad tablet on sale for £89.95 (excluding P&P). Like many such devices, it packs a Cortex A8-based processor, one clocked at 1.06GHz, with 512MB DDR3 memory, 8GB onboard storage, a 7in 800 x 480 pixels capacitive display, a microSD card slot, a front facing camera, Wi-FI, mini USB & mini HDMI ports, a 3000mAh battery as well as Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Reviews on Morgan Computers point out that it is "an ideal size tablet" and that the build quality is "excellent". The HDMI output mirrors the screen, which on a big size telly could be problematic. Perhaps more importantly for novices is the fact that the manual appears to be "comprehensive and easy to understand".

It's worth mentioning that the tablet comes with a number of pre-installed apps including BBC iPlayer, Angry Birds, Google Play, YouTube, Skype, Kindle, Facebook and Adobe Flash 11.

The Versus is one of many no-name brands (like the Ainovo) that have come to the market with 7in tablets with Ice Cream Sandwich and a capacitive display.
