The price of the Lexmark Genesis S815 has been cut from £450 to only £106.80 at Amazon (as sold by Marketplace seller Printerland). In comparison, Ebuyer sells it for £318.
It is an inkjet printer with a quoted print speed of 30 pages per minute for mono and 33 pages per minute for colour with a print resolution of 4,800 x 1,200 dpi and automatic double sided printing.
It comes with a 64MB buffer RAM, a 33.6Kbps fax, 802.11n Wi-Fi, one 100-sheet feeder, a scanner that can do the job in three seconds at a resolution of up to 2,400 x 1,200 ppi thanks to a 10-megapixel sensor.
There's even a card reader and a colour touchscreen display to review or preview pictures plus the ability to install applications including Twitter, Facebook, Picasa, Flickr etc. Lexmark delivers a standard three year warranty with the printer.
What sets it apart from the competition though is its space saving, vertically integrated design that, surprisingly for a printer, will get heads turning.
A CMYK combo ink pack comprising of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and black (x) colours will cost around £78.
