Asus is selling the Eee Pad Transformer TF101 for only £252. This is a product which has been refurbished by the manufacturer itself rather than by a third party and comes with full warranty.
The TF101, which has been superseded last September by the quad core Transformer Prime, comes with a dual core, Nvidia Tegra 2 processor clocked at 1GHz, 1GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage with a microSD card slot and a 10.1in IPS panel with scratch resistant and super tough glass and a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels.
Other features include Android 3.0 Honeycomb (upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich), Polaris Office, 3D Stereo with SRS premium sound, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a microUSB port.
The tablet can be converted into an ultra portable laptop by adding a mobile dock that doubles as a keyboard and also doubles the battery life of the device.
The arrival of the iPad 2 at a cheaper entry price - £329 - meant that Android tablet manufacturers are feeling the pinch and have had to reajust their strategy accordingly.
