You might be forgiven to believe that the Brother MFC-J5910DW costs more than twice its listed price. At only £97.30 including delivery at Amazon, it offers a number of eye popping features found on more expensive models.
This colour A3 printer can print up to 12 pages per minute in mono and 10 pages in colour. It includes automatic duplex (double sided) printing by default and can scan, copy and fax (albeit in A4 format only).
In addition, it comes with 802.11n Wi-Fi and has a built in Ethernet port for networking printing. You can also print via a USB port. Other features include a sheet feeder, a card reader and compatibility with Apple's Airprint and Google's Cloud Print service.
Prices of the consumables are relatively affordable. The black XL cartridge can be had from around £24 for 2400 pages (or 1p per page) while each CMY cartridge costs around £16 for 1200 pages coverage (or 1.33p per page).
There's not much to criticise about the MFC-J5910DW other than the fact that it takes a lot of desk area although that's expected. Plus there's no fancy colour LCD screen, something which can be found on more expensive models.
