Apple is currently selling stocks of the iPad 2 which has been replaced by the iPad 3, otherwise known as the New iPad. The device which cost £259 is a refurbished model which has been tested and certified by Apple and carries a one-year warranty.
It is 21 per cent cheaper than a new model and comes with 16GB onboard storage. Originally released in March 2011, it is still very much up there with the better dual core tablets on the market like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Apple is also selling the original iPad for £219 (16GB) and £359 (64GB), the iPad 2 3G 16GB for £359, the iPad 2 64GB for £399, the iPad 2 3G 32GB for £419, the iPad 3G 64GB for £439 and the iPad 2 3G 64 GB for £499.
The iPad 2 contained the Apple A5 processor, a dual core model clocked at 1GHz, with 512MB RAM, a 9.7in 1,024 x 768 pixels IPS display, a front and rear camera, Bluetooth, up to 10 hours battery life and runs on iOS 5.1.1
The second generation Apple iPad 2 is likely to be the main competitor to the New iPad because it offers enough features to gets heads turning and carries a relatively more affordable price tag than its bigger brother.
