Laptop with 1TB hard drive goes on sale for £400

Saveonlaptops sells the Packard Bell Easynote TS11 laptop (LX.BWR02.023) for just under £400 with free delivery and free internet security software.

The laptop - which is built by Acer - comes with a Sandy-Bridge-based Intel Core i5-2430M dual core processor clocked at 2.4GHz with Turbo Boost to 3GHz and 3MB L3 cache.

There's also one 4GB DDR3 memory module (up to a maximum of 8GB), a 1TB hard disk drive, a DVD rewriter, integrated Intel HD graphics 3000, Wi-Fi, webcam, Windows 7 Home Premium, three USB 2.0 ports, VGA, HDMI and eSATA port, a card reader and up to three hours battery life.

At just over 2.7Kg, it is not as heavy as one would have expected. It does come with a full numeric keypad and the touchpad is much closer to the left side of the laptop which may prove to be a discomfort for right or left hand users.

Given how expensive hard disk drives have become after then Thai floods, it is indeed a pleasant surprise to see that they are starting to fall down. Note that you can upgrade to Windows 8 Pro when it becomes widely available for as little as £15.
