Samsung Galaxy Beam to land in July, costs £385

Samsung's smartphone with a built in projector, the Galaxy Beam, will go on sale in the country in July rather than June according to updates from and

The handset which was launched at MWC back in February is the first mainstream smartphone to feature a usable projector and will go on sale for £385.

It has a built in HD projector with a brightness of 15 lumens which can produce a usable picture of up to 50in. It features a dual core processor clocked at 1GHz, Android 2.3 Gingebread OS, a 5-megapixel camera with a LED flash, AF, a 4in 800 x 480 pixels Super AMOLED display, 512MB of RAM, 8GB onboard storage, a microSD card slot and is 12.5mm thick.

The extra thickness is partly due to the soft rubberised feel for an easier grip. It comes with a two year warranty and is roughly 40 per cent thicker than the Samsung Galaxy S2. The phone is part of the ever growing Galaxy family and was expected to be launched in the UK in June.
