Buffalo 802.11ac Wireless Router goes on sale for £115.09

Morecomputers has put the Buffalo AirStation 1750 802.11ac router on preorder for £132 significantly less than the £200 that similar 802.11ac models normally cost.

The WZR-D1800H-EU offers 802.11ac draft 2.0, the so-called 5G Wi-Fi, with a maximum theoretical data transfer of 1.75Gbps, three year warranty and with a 4-port integrated Gigabit switch.

The router achieves this theoretical limit by combining two wireless radios (with a 3x3 antenna setup) with simultaneous transfer speeds of 1.3Gbps in the 5GHz spectrum and 0.45Gbps in the 2.4GHz spectrum.

Notable features include auto-sensing per device, auto-uplink (auto MDI/MDI-X), MAC address filtering, Airstation OneTouch Secure System (AOSS), MIMO technology, Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) and Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS).

As for previous generations, initial take up is limited because of the paucity of products on the market. At the time of writing, there's only one device that offers 802.11ac connectivity onboard, that's the Asus G75WW laptop which was launched at Computex last week.
