Samsung Voice/Motion Control Smart TV now comes with free Galaxy Tab 2 tablet

The UE46ES7000 is the cheapest "Smart TV" television set from Samsung that comes with a free Galaxy Tab 2 7in tablet worth around £299. The TV set is part of the 2012 series from the Korea chaebol.

It does have internet access & 3D capabilities, full HD LED backlit screen, an "A" energy rating, active 3D technology, Freeview HD and Freesat HD, a frame rate of 200Hz with software accelerated frame rate hitting 800Hz, a microdimming technology and what is actually a built-in computer consisting of a dual core processor, built-in Wi-Fi with internet apps, DLNA and Bluetooth compatibility.

The TV set also comes with two pairs of 3D glasses, three HDMI connections, one SCART * one component video connection, a USB port, AV, D-Sub, DVI and a headphone socket. Sadly there, no SD card slot and we'd prefer to have one more HDMI port. The UE46ES7000 has two 10W speakers that use DNSe sound system.

Perhaps the most intriguing feature of the TV is the interactive camera and voice control that is similar to Microsoft's Kinect. In Samsung's own words.

"A simple gesture is all it takes to access your favorite movies, sports, apps and other Smart Content. Forget the remote and use your hands to control TV functions by swiping to navigate and grabbing to select. It's as smart as it is easy. With voice control, your voice is all you need to turn on your Smart TV, navigate menus and get to your favorite Smart Content. It's a faster, easier, smarter way to control your TV. The built-in camera recognizes your face and logs you in to your profile, giving you instant access to your favorite apps, your personal Skype address book and more."

You can also check the video below. You can get the TV from £1700 from Comet with a 10 per cent discount when you type MEGA10 at check out. Alternatively, grab it from John Lewis for the same price and get five year guarantee with it.

You can find more about the promotion on Samsung's website. Note also that if you buy selected Samsung Home Entertainment Systems, Blu-ray players or personal video recorders before 31 October 2012, you will receive £50 worth of Acetrax movie credit to rent up to 20 movies.
