Acer Iconia Tab A510 Olympics Edition for sale for £349

The Acer Iconia Tab A510 has been placed on preorder by Carphone Warehouse with a delivery date expected as of the 13th (yesterday). At £349, it is competitively priced against the other quad core tablet on the market, the Asus Transformer Prime and costs less than the Apple's New iPad.

Because Acer is the exclusive tablet partner of the London 2012 Olympics, it has the Olympic games' rings logo printed on the back and it is giving away a free access - for almost four months - to Eurosports 1 and Eurosport 2, a deal worth almost £20. After the trial period, users will be charged £4.90 to continue viewing the channels.

The A510 boosts the longest battery life amongst tablets at 15 hours thanks to a massive 9800mAh battery. It is powered by a quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1.3GHz (less than the competition),

Other features include Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, 32GB internal storage with a microSD card slot and 1GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera with HD video recording, a 1-megapixel front facing HD camera, HDMI plus a 10.1in 1,280 x 800 pixels display.
