LG 50in Plasma debuts for £447

RGBdirect sells the LG 50PA4500 for just under £447. This 2012 model from the Korean manufacturer sports a 600Hz sub field driving (that reduces motion blur), a 1024 x 768 pixels resolution on a 50in display, a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio and a protective skin glass.

Other features include a USB 2.0 port, Freeview Tuner, Triple XD Engine technology, a 3D Digital Comb Filter, two 10W speakers, Dolby Digital recorder, two HDMI ports, RF In, AV In, SCART and a CI Slot.

Two interesting selling points are LG's Intelligent Sensor and the Resolution upscaler technologies. The first one automatically finds the optimal brightness, sharpness, colour and contrast picture settings based on the ambient lighting conditions and the second steps in to fill in the gaps in poor quality content (although we're not sure how it looks on an XGA resolution).

Note that the 50PA45000 comes with one of the sexiest designs we've seen on a budget television sets with an extremely thin bezel that wouldn't look out of place on a television twice the price.
