Carphone Warehouse running out of Samsung Galaxy S3 handsets?

Brisk sales of the Galaxy S3 at UK retailer Carphone Warehouse seem to be going on unabated as the company has updated the phone's stock status to "Pre-order, stock coming soon" for both the blue and the white colours.

Both variants have already been released for nearly three months and given that Carphone Warehouse has already confirmed that the Galaxy S3 has been the most successful preordered handset to date, one can safely assume that either (a) there's a logistical issue (b) most probably, demand is outstripping supply.

Carphone Wrehouse confirmed earlier today that the blue S3 is available on Vodafone PAYG for now with other networks likely to receive it by the 20th of June.

The phone is available from Carphone Warehouse for £500 as a SIM Only/unlocked model and, ironically, for £50 more on PAYG with customers having to fork out an additional £10 for a top up.

The S3 packs a a quad core Exynos processor with 1GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage with a microSD card slot, 25GB cloud storage from Dropbox, a 4.8in 1,280 x 720 pixels capacitive Super AMOLED HD display, an 8-megapixel camera and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
