Samsung has unveiled a new all-in-one compact camera to be added to its popular WB series.
The WB100 is the latest addition to the range and is designed to capture everything from up-close detail to subjects in the distance and boasts headline specs of a 16-megapixel sensor and a 26x optical zoom lens.
It's not all about the super-zoom functionality though, there's a focal length of 22.3mm at the wide end, making landscapes and artistic shots just as easy.
"Combining high image performance, creative functionality and style, the WB100 is the ideal camera for those looking to capture their world in perfect detail," Samsung stated in the camera's press release.
Additionally, shaky shots should be automatically balanced using the camera's Dual Image Stabilisation feature, and the WB100 also boasts 720p HD video recording at 30fps. A 3D photo capture function and Live Panorama mode round out the initial information available about the new model.
Cosmetically, the camera features a soft hand grip and a sleek, metallic design. Available in black or red, a UK price has not been officially announced, but a suggested retail cost of €219 in Germany – equivalent to £176 based on today's exchange rate – provides interested consumers with a helpful indication of what to expect when the WB100 shortly hits shelves in Britain.
