Price of LG Optimus 4X falls below £400; Galaxy S3 & iPhone 5 to blame? has put the LG Optimus 4X smartphone on preorder for a mere £399.99 including delivery. The smartphone is expected to be delivered tomorrow.

The phone, which is the third quad-core smartphone to be launched in the UK, initially had a listed price of £489.99 and was announced at Mobile World Congress back in February.

It comes with the Nvidia Tegra 3 SoC clocked at 1.5GHz, 1GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a 4.7in True HD IPS LCD display with a 1,280 x 720 resolution, an 8-megapixel rear camera, full HD video recording, a 1.3-megapixel front camera and a 2,150mAh battery. Other features include a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, a 9mm thick casing, a microUSB port, HDMI, NFC, DLNA, FM radio, GPS and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The two other rivals to the Optimus 4X are the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the HTC One X. LG's handset undercuts both but doesn't come with any cloud-based storage. HTC offers 25GB on Dropbox for two years while the Galaxy S3 ups the ante to 50GB.
