Sony Xperia tipo : hands on photos

ITProPortal got its paws on the recently announced Sony Mobile Xperia tipo handset, at a Carphone Warehouse Christmas press event.

The tipo is the entry-level mobile phone in the latest range of Xperia handsets and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, with a price point between £80-£100.

It's unusual to find a phone running such a new version of Android at this kind of price point, so Sony should be commended for that alone.

The tipo ships with a 480 x 320 3.2in scratch-resistant screen, an 800MHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 2.9GB of internal storage and a 3.2-megapixel camera.

The first five images below highlight the Xperia tipo's dimensions, from different angles; the next group of images show all the phone's home screens, where the next four cover all the default apps installed. These shots end with the settings menu showing that the Xperia tipo is running from Android Ice Cream Sandwich platform.
