Motorola Razr Super Smartphone down to £250

The arrival of the Motorola Razr Maxx might have prompted the company to clear out stocks of its previous flagship smartphone, the Razr.

After seeing its price fall to £280 in June, the Razr can now be had for £249.99 at Expansys thanks to a voucher code, MRW15 (our review of the Motorola Razr gave it an 8/10).

The Razr was only launched in November 2011 and hit the market at £450. Because it uses superlight-but-ultraresistant Kevlar, the smartphone is only 7.1mm thick and weighs 127g. It has a screen with a 4.3in 960 x 540 resolution and covered with Corning Gorilla glass. The smartphone itself has a splash-proof coating.

Other features include a dual-core TI OMAP4430 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, 16GB storage, a microSD card slot, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, an 8-megapixel camera with flash and full HD video recording, a front facing HD ready webcam, DLNA compatibility, HDMI and an 1800mAh battery.

As expected, it runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and is upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. While there are other dual core handsets available for less, the Motorola Razr is still a worthy rival to the likes of the HTC Sensation XE or the Samsung Galaxy S2.
