The average price of Android tablets is slowly but surely coming down, probably as result of the Google Nexus 7's keen pricing. Even Samsung is cutting the price of its Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 tablet and giving away a £50 cashback until the end of the month.
Users can pick up that 10.1in tablet for £229.97 (after cashback) with free delivery from Laptopsdirect. Like its 7in predecessor, the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 comes with a dual-core processor clocked at 1GHz (oddly enough, a TI OMAP4430), 1GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a 10.1in 1,280 x 800 pixels capacitive PLS display, Wi-Fi, a 10-hour quoted battery life (thanks to a 7,000mAh battery), Bluetooth and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
There's also a rear 3-megapixel camera with a VGA front-facing one, a microSD card slot and a micro-USB port. At 9.7mm thick and 581g, it is slightly more bulkier than the original Galaxy Tab 10.1 with the only other differences being the front-facing camera, the processor and the price.
You can find more details about the Samsung Cashback on the company's dedicated webpage. Note that the claims will have to be submitted by 30 August.
