Apple offering up to £50 off refurbished versions of new iPad

Have you been dying to get one of Apple's new iPads with a "resolutionary" Retina display, but just don't have the money for it? Now you can save yourself some cash by buying a refurbished one.

As noted by iMore, Apple just began offering its new iPad with Retina display, released this March, in the refurbished section of its online Apple Store. By opting for a refurbished model, you can save up to £50 off the price of a third-generation iPad. This works out to a discount of 10 per cent.

Apple says its refurbished products have all been tested and verified, and include a one-year warranty. Also, all refurbished iPad models come with a brand-new battery and outer shell. As an added bonus, the company offers free shipping on all refurbished products.

"Before we put a refurbished Mac, iPod, iPad, or Apple TV up for sale in Special Deals, it undergoes a rigorous refurbishment process to make sure it's up to Apple's tough quality standards," according to Apple's website.

The Cupertino tech giant is currently selling third-generation iPad models with Wi-Fi in the refurbished section of its online store. A refurbished, current generation 32GB iPad with Wi-Fi, for instance, is listed for £429. The same model will run you £479 brand new, so the refurbished version offers a 10 per cent discount. A refurbished, current generation 16GB with Wi-Fi is going for £359, giving you £40 off the original price of £399.

In the US, Apple is offering refurbished versions of all third-generation iPad models - including Wi-Fi + Cellular versions of the device with storage of up to 64GB.

If you're interested in one of the refurbished models, you probably shouldn't wait too long. Refurbished item stock can be unpredictable, and right now Apple says its supplies are limited, but being updated frequently.
