Medion 17.3in laptop price-crunched to £279, comes with TV tuner

If you’re looking for a laptop with a large screen at an affordable price and with a decent set of features, then it is hard to beat the Medion Akoya E7214 for £279 including delivery.

It is a refurbished model but does come with a full one year warranty from the German brand (now owned by Lenovo).

The E7214 comes with a dual-core Intel Core i3-350M processor clocked at 2.26GHz and 3MB L2 cache, a massive 8-cell battery, 3GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, a 17.3in display with a 1,600 x 900 resolution, Intel HD graphics, a DVD writer, two speakers and a subwoofer (with a Dolby Home Theater stamp on it), a TV tuner with remote control, a webcam, card reader, DisplayPort and HDMI out, eSATA, three USB 2.0 Ports and Gigabit Ethernet.

The laptop runs on Windows 7 Home Premium OS and also comes with Microsoft Works (rather than Office 2010 starter), a number of Cyberlink applications, Bullguard Internet Security and Corel Draw Essentials.

CDE is a suite of graphics-oriented applications based on CorelDraw Graphics suite (includes Draw and Photopaint) with fewer features.
