Nokia Lumia 710 Windows Phone handset available on £7.50 contracts

Carphone Warehouse’s deal of the week happens to be the Nokia Lumia 710, a Windows Phone handset that’s currently available for as little as £100 on pay as you go.

For a mere £7.50 per month (on a two-year contract with Talkmobile), you get 100 minutes, 5,000 texts and 250MB data. That’s a total cost of ownership of £180, an £80 premium over the PAYG offer.

The phone shares a number of similarities with its bigger brother, the Nokia Lumia 800. They both have the same processor (a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255T clocked at 1.4GHz) and the same amount of RAM (512MB).

The Lumia 710, however, has a 5-megapixel camera, a 3.7in ClearBlack display with Corning Gorilla Glass, an 800 x 480 screen resolution and 8GB of storage.

Other features include Windows Phone 7.5, Xpress-on covers, 720p HD video recording capabilities as well as Nokia Mix Radio, Nokia Drive and Nokia Maps, all of which are exclusive to Nokia.

Current generation Windows Phone handsets are being discounted to make way for new handsets based on Windows Phone 8, with the first wave of smartphones expected to appear at Nokia World. Check our preview of the Nokia Lumia 710.
