Carphone Warehouse has announced that it has put the Motorola RAZR Maxx on sale for £399.95 plus a £10 top-up.
The handset had been on preorder on other websites (such as Unlocked-Mobiles) but Carphone Warehouse’s price has been by far the cheapest.
The RAZR Maxx comes with a massive 3,300mAh battery, similar in capacity to many 7in tablets, with an estimated battery life of nearly 18 hours and standby time of more than 25 days. Yet, it is only 9mm thin.
It has a dual-core TI OMAP processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, a microSD card slot, an 8-megapixel rear camera with full HD video recording, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, a 4.3in Super AMOLED display with a 960 x 540 resolution, 16GB onboard storage and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
When we carried out a review of the phone back in June, we concluded that the RAZR Maxx had a great battery life, a good screen and useful bespoke apps but that it did not come with Android 4.0 ICS like most of the high-end competition did.
