Laptop with 8GB RAM price-crunched to £280

A nippy laptop with tons of onboard memory, a hard drive with a massive capacity and a few other goodies for under £280 including delivery. That’s the Zoostorm 7873-9037, which Ebuyer is selling via its eBay Express store.

The laptop comes with an Intel Pentium B960 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, which has two cores and 2MB L2 cache, which is far more powerful than one would expect from a Celeron/Pentium-class product.

There’s an Intel HM65 chipset with HD graphics, 8GB DDR3 RAM, a 500GB hard disk drive, a DVD writer, a 15.6in LED display with a 1,366 x 768 resolution, Wi-Fi, a 6-cell battery, Ethernet, three USB ports, VGA, HDMI, a card reader, a 1.3-megapixel webcam and a one-year warranty.

Note though that the device doesn’t come with an operating system and Ebuyer suggests getting Windows 7. Or you could get Windows 8 release preview for free for a few more months, and bear in mind that it's likely Microsoft will sell Windows 8 for a similar price to Windows 7.

Alternatively you can also try a number of Linux distributions like Ubuntu or even Google Chrome OS.
