LG Optimus 4X HD goes on pre-order at Phones4U

Phones4U has put the LG Optimus 4X HD, which we saw briefly at MWC 2012 six months ago, on pre-order for as little as £26 per month on a two year contract.

The first 50 customers to get the phone will receive a pair of tickets to see pop princess Cheryl Cole perform live at the LG Arena this October. The tariff, known as Dolphin 26, comes with 400 minutes, 3,000 texts and 250MB data allowance with delivery expected on 23 August.

The smartphone runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It has a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 1GB of RAM, 16GB storage, an 8-megapixel camera, true HD-IPS display with a 1,280 x 800 resolution and Gorilla glass, an FM radio, a 2150mAh battery, a 1.3-megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and a microSD card slot.

This is the third smartphone with a quad-core processor to hit the market after the HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S3. The One X is by far the cheapest of the bunch and has a comparable resolution to the Optimus 4X HD and a much wider availability.
