Online retailer and eBay seller, e_cell, is selling the Sony Xperia Acro S LT26W smartphone for as little as £410 including delivery. The device is brand new, unlocked and unbranded.
The handset appears to be a variant of the Sony Xperia S. It has a dual-core Qualcomm MSM8260 processor clocked at 1.5GHz with an Adreno 220 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage, a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, a micro-USB port, DLNA compatibility, a 12-megapixel camera with full HD video recording and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing one. It runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and the Sony Entertainment Network application, and has a 4.3in shatter-proof Reality display with a 1,280 x 720 resolution, complete with wet finger tracking and Sony's Mobile BRAVIA engine.
Sony has also weather-proofed the Acro S by making it IP57 certified, which gives it a degree of dust and water resistance. For example, it is waterproof up to 1m and can stay under water for 30 minutes.
At 147g and 12mm thick, it is bigger than a smartphone with a comparable screen size. Note that it is also Playstation-certified and has a battery life of up to 430 minutes.
