Cracking Asus super-netbook goes on sale for £200

You can bag an Asus ultraportable laptop – part of the Eee PC family - for as little as £199.99 from Argos’s eBay outlet with a 12-month warranty and free delivery (note that it is a refurbished model).

The device has a dual core AMD C50 processor clocked at 1GHz with an AMD Radeon HD 6250 graphics card, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard disk drive, a 11.6in display with a 1366 x 768 resolution, two USB ports, a HDMI port, an Ethernet port, Webcam, Windows 7 Home premium, a weight of only 1.5Kg and up to eight hours battery life.

The end of 2012 will almost certainly witness the rise of sleek, affordable ultra portable notebooks on the back of the Ultrabook marketing campaigns that Intel and its partners have debuted, a rise that will be fuelled by the launch of Windows 8 and Windows RT in October.

Expect x86-based laptops to face some serious competition from the likes of more affordable ARM-based, Android or Windows RT-powered laptop hybrids like the Archos Gen 10 101 XS tablet we saw last week.
