Quad-core phone being cleared out? LG Optimus 4X HD available on contract for £15.50

Carphone Warehouse subsidiary Mobiles.co.uk is selling LG's Optimus 4X HD handset for just £15.50 per month, adding up to a total cost of ownership of £372 over the contract's two-year two term.

The device is available to pre-order at that price on T-Mobile’s Text Standard Internet which offers 50 minutes, 250 texts, and 750MB of data (unlimited for web browsing, email, and light Internet usage in general).

The LG Optimus 4X HD competes in the same league as the HTC One X and the Samsung Galaxy S3. Like the two aforementioned phones, it comes with a quad-core processor (an Nvidia Tegra 3 clocked at 1.5GHz) with 1GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, and a 1,280 x 720 pixel display.

Other features include an 8-megapixel rear camera sensor, a front-facing HD-ready one, a microSD card slot, a mere 9mm thickness, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and LG’s own proprietary user interface.

LG will launch a new flagship smartphone soon which could explain why this model – which was unveiled in February – could be on its way out despite having just landed. Check out our hands-on preview of the LG Optimus 4X HD.
