UK supermarket Sainsburys has cut the price of its back to school laptop bundle by £100 to a mere £249 including free delivery.
The offer, which is valid while stocks last, include a stylish Samsung Backpack, Panda 2012 Antivirus software, a mouse and a Samsung RV515-S01 notebook which is accompanied by a number of Samsung proprietary software (otherwise known as bloatware).
The laptop runs on low-powered AMD’s E450 clocked at 1.65GHz. This is a dual-core chip with 1MB cache and with enough processing power to match Intel’s Atom range.
The rest of the feature list includes a 500GB hard disk drive, a DVD writer, a 15.6in 1,366 x 768 pixels display, 4GB of RAM, a card reader, Windows 7 Home Premium, a webcam, Wi-Fi, an Ethernet port, Bluetooth, three USB ports, and up to 4.5 hours battery life.
A welcomed surprise is the inclusion of an AMD Radeon HD6470M graphics subsystem which should allow casual gamers to play their favourite games at low resolutions but with decent frame count.
