Nokia Lumia 610 Windows Phone available from £79

Ahead of the launch of Nokia’s first Windows Phone 8 handsets in New York on Wednesday, Asda has begun selling the Nokia Lumia 610 smartphone, which is based on Windows Phone 7.5, for a mere £79 unlocked and unbranded and including free delivery.

The device runs on a Qualcomm MSM7227-A system-on-chip clocked at 800MHz, with only 256MB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a 3.7in 800 x 480 capacitive display with Corning Gorilla Glass, a 1300mAh battery, a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, Wi-Fi, microUSB and a pebble-like design.

Nokia has also bundled some useful applications like Nokia Maps, Nokia drive 2.0 and Nokia Transport, all geared towards making your journey, either on the train, bus, tube, on foot or by car, as stress free as possible.

There’s also a free streaming radio based on Nokia Music called Mix Radio which arranges music tracks into playlists.

It's bigger and more powerful brother, the Lumia 710 is also available for an extra £20 and may well be a better allrounder for some. Check our review of the Nokia Lumia 610 review here.
