The Sony Xperia J, one of three handsets released by the Japanese manufacturer at IFA last week, will go on sale at online retailer Clove for only £191.
The device comes with a single-core Qualcomm MSM7227-A system-on-chip clocked at 1GHz, with 512MB of RAM and 4GB onboard storage, a 4in 854 x 480 resolution display covered with Gorilla glass, a front-facing camera, a 1,750mAh battery, a 5-megapixel rear camera with flash, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and two-year warranty.
The Xperia J also dumps the illuminated transparent strip found on previous Sony Xperia models and adds 50GB worth of cloud storage from Box.
We still wouldn’t recommend the Xperia J, though, especially since you can get the six-month-old Xperia U for cheaper. The latter has a dual-core system-on-chip and an smaller design making it more pocketable.
You don’t get the cloud storage or ICS but whether these are worth the extra £50 is debatable. The Xperia J will be available in white, pink and gold as well. Expect the first stocks towards the end of October.
