All 195 UK iPhone 5 deals; the best & the rest from O2, Orange, T-Mobile, Vodafone & Three

Update 20/9 : List now increased to a massive 195 thanks to Carphone Warehouse. Spreadsheet sorted by total cost of ownership now.

Update 17/9 : You can now download the spreadsheet (as a Google Apps document. We have also added O2 to our list which leaves Tesco Mobile as the only network without an iPhone 5 listing at the time of writing.

This year again we’re publishing a list of all the iPhone 5 deals currently available on the market. Only O2 and its MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) Tesco Mobile are missing from the list and will be added in due time (check the tariff list for the iPhone 4S).

Compared to last year, the mobile phone operators appeared to have rationalized their listings/SKUs. There were nearly 200 plans last year for the iPhone 4S, we’re currently counting just over a quarter of that figure. Three for example only have six entries for the iPhone 5 on the products’ page.

There’s a definite trend towards offering unlimited or almost unlimited minutes and texts. All plans offer at least 5000 texts and two thirds offer a thousand minutes or more. Data however remains the sore point; only Three and T-Mobile offer unlimited data with Three being the only provider to offer unlimited tethering.

Vodafone stubbornly offers up to 2GB data allowance while Orange has introduced unlimited data but only for the most expensive packages.

The cheapest plan with no upfront fee costs £46 at Orange for a 16Gb iPhone 5 but if you can afford £79, then you can get that price down to £34 per month at Three.

The smallest of the UK mobile networks also has the cheapest overall TCO on 24 months, at £895; that’s only £114 less than the TCO of Vodafone’s 12-month iPhone 5 contract. Note that Vodafone is also the only current provider which provides with an inclusive Wi-Fi allowance.

You can win an iPhone 5 in our iPhone 5 competition by answering a simple question about what generation the Phone 5 is. ITProPortal reported live on Apple’s announcement. Other than the iPhone 5, we saw new iPod devices but no cheaper version of the iPhone 4S, an iPad mini and potentially a 13in Macbook Pro with Retina Display.

We will update this list as soon as O2 and Tesco Mobile send their tariffs in.
