The Chromebook has been an interesting product which unfortunately hasn’t fulfilled its promise. Hailed as a cloud-based operating system, it has been marred by mixed reviews pointing out its initial shortcomings, like its price, its inability to save files offline, etc.
New updates have helped solve a few of the nagging issues and now you can grab one from Currys for as little as £267.11 including delivery. Note that it is a Grade A refurbished product that comes with a 12-month warranty.
This particular Chromebook, the Series 5 3G, comes from Samsung and is around £30 cheaper than the brand new one (available from Currys) after £50 cashback from the manufacturer.
It comes with a dual-core Intel Atom processor, the N570, clocked at 1.66GHz, has 2GB of DDR3 RAM, a 12.1in 1,280 x 800 display, 16GB onboard storage, 3G capabilities, three USB 2.0 ports, Wi-Fi, VGA, a webcam, a card reader, a 6-cell battery and a boot-up time of 10 seconds.
Note that the brand new model also comes pre-installed with a SIM from 3 which includes 3GB of free data worth around £20.
