HP claims that its new Officejet Pro colour inkjet printer has a lower printing cost than laser and “gets better value for frequent printing.” Plus, it can reportedly print documents that can resist fading, water and highlighter-pen smears when using genuine consumables.
The Officejet Pro 8600 Plus costs £190 including delivery from Dabs, plus you can claim up to a £50 cashback direct from HP to bring down the price to £140. For a limited period, HP is also offering a free three-year warranty extension worth a whopping £192.
The business-class printer achieves ISO print speeds of up to 20ppm in black and 16ppm in colour using individual ink cartridges which tend to decrease the total cost of ownership.
You can print from mobile devices (via HP ePrint), using the onboard touchscreen display, a USB drive or memory cards and obviously from a wired or wireless device like a laptop/computer.
Other features include automatic two-sided printing, copying, and scanning thanks to a 50-page automatic document feeder, borderless printing, fax, USB 2.0 and Ethernet ports, 128MB of RAM, and a speedy 360MHz processor.
It is also energy efficient, consuming up to 50 per cent less energy than comparable laser printers.
