ISP Gigler launches 1Gbps service for £50

Gigler Fiber has announced today the availability of a new super fast broadband service which can reach download speeds of up to 1Gbps and upload speeds approaching 500Mbps.

Gigler also claims that the average pings on its network, powered by CityFibre’s fibre-to-the-home network, are less than 10ms. Other than its £50 install charge, Gigler offer three different user packages, an 80GB, a 250GB and unlimited one for £25, £35 and £50 per month respectively.

You will get a free router although, unless it is an 802.11ac model, it is likely to be maxed out by the fibre broadband throughout. Gigler also said that it will offer landline services soon as well.

Greg Mesch, CEO at CityFibre, said "Pure fibre connectivity is emerging around the world. […] CityFibre believes that now is the time for next generation access broadband services in the UK to thrive."

There are no set dates yet for the service to launch en masse in other areas across the UK. The maximum commercial broadband speed currently tops at 120Mbps on Virgin Media.
