The combined arrivals of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 and the Apple iPhone 5 are probably behind the Samsung Galaxy S3's price drop. The device can now be had SIM Free/unbranded for as little as £370 from ecell_acccessorize on eBay. That’s almost a third off its original retail price and a surprisingly fast price fall given that it was only introduced to the UK market at end of May.
The phone is new and comes with a one-year warranty. It is powered by a quad-core Exynos 4412 system-on-chip clocked at 1.4GHz with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage.
Other features include a 4.8in 1,280 x 720 pixel Super AMOLED HD display, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a front-facing 1.9-megapixel camera, a microSD card slot, Android 4.0 ICS, TouchWiz UI, Samsung's Smart Alert notification feature, the Android Beam sharing function, a 2,100mAh battery and Corning Gorilla Glass 2.
The Galaxy S3 is not the cheapest quad core smartphone on the market though; the LG Optimus 4X HD undercuts it by £70. As for the iPhone 5, it is a whopping 43 per cent more expensive than the S3.
