Toshiba AT100 Android tablet now down to £170!

The Toshiba AT100 tablet is now available for as little as £170, a fraction of its original SRP, at Argos’ eBay outlet. Note that the device is refurbished and comes with a one year warranty.

The AT100 (also known as the Thrive) is powered by Android 3.1 Honeycomb and features a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 system-on-chip clocked at 1GHz. There’s also 1GB of RAM, 16GB onboard storage, a 10.1in, 1,280 x 800 display, a SD card reader (not a microSD one), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 2-megapixel front facing camera, a rear 5-megapixel one, a removable battery, a USB port, mini USB, plus HDMI ports.

Most of these ports are covered by a removable rubber flap. As for the tablet itself, it is thick at 15mm (almost twice the thickness of a Galaxy Tab) and weighs a whopping 725g.

In comparison, the Google Nexus 7 comes with a much more powerful quad-core SoC and Jelly Bean but also has a smaller screen, no rear camera, no HDMI out, no USB port, no card reader and less onboard storage.

Toshiba currently has a number of tablets in stock including a 13in model and the 7.7in model we spied at MWC back in February.

He then moved on to be the Editor of TechRadarPro - a position he still holds - and has recently been reunited with ITProPortal since Future Publishing's acquisition of Net Communities.
