YouView, the hybrid video-on-demand and terrestrial television service backed by the main operators and broadcasters in the UK, is mostly available through TalkTalk and BT.
But you can also grab a PVR from Humax that will allow you to play YouView content, giving you access to online as well as over-the-air entertainment.
The Humax DTRT1000 is available for as little as £249 with free delivery from UK retailer SuperFi, a 17 per cent discount off its recommended retail price.
In addition, it features 7-day catch up, the ability to record and play up to 74 Freeview channels and a 500GB storage capacity.
Rounding things out, the Humax DTR-T1000 sports DVB-T tuners, an HDMI output socket, an Ethernet port, Dolby Digital Plus sound, but unfortunately no Wi-Fi connectivity.
TalkTalk offers the YouView service from as little as £14.50 per month with a £50 installation fee and line rental of £9.50 per month.
It's an attractive all-around proposition, especially as you get unlimited broadband with HomeSafe security, a 12 month Lovefilm Instant subscription, and unlimited anytime calls to UK landlines including 0845 and 0870 numbers thrown in
