In this morning's blog piece, it was revealed that in total over 250,000 miles of road in the UK and around the world is either being revised or freshly added.

Google is additionally doubling its number of special collections, introducing them to destinations in South Africa, Japan and Spain, to name only a few.

This latest update is set to be just one in a long line, as Google looks to make its service more complete than ever. "We hope you enjoy taking a virtual stroll around some of the world's beautiful places, and stay tuned for more Street View updates as we look to make our maps more comprehensive and useful for you," wrote Ulf Spitzer, program manager of Street View.
