Toshiba Satellite U840W 21:9 Ultrabook down to £570

There was at least one reason that the Satellite U840W-107 Ultrabook was sure to get heads turning and that was its 14.4in Toshiba Trubrite display, which boasts a 21:9 cinemascope screen ratio, delivering a massive 1,792 x 768 resolution, nearly a third more pixels than traditional Ultrabooks.

Now, thanks to Currys, there’s a second one. The product, which until 14 August this year cost £1100, is now available for only £570 (use the code CUR5 at check out to get that price), a £530 drop in price and one which can go even further down when you trade in an old laptop that is less than six years old and is in working condition.

At a 21mm thickness and weighing 1.85kg, the Satellite U840W is just thin and light enough to qualify as an Ultrabook. It features an Ivy Bridge-based Intel Core i5-3317U which is clocked at 2.4GHz and has 3MB cache plus an Intel HD 4000 graphics card onboard.

There’s also 6GB of RAM, a 32GB System SSD, a 500GB hard disk drive, a card reader, three USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, Bluetooth 4.0, a webcam, a 4-cell battery capable of powering the Ultrabook for up to nine hours, Windows 7 Home Premium and Harman Kardon speakers.
