HP Pavilion DM4-3002EA Beats Edition with Intel Core i5 price-crunched to under £500

If your budget for a laptop doesn't stretch beyond £500 but you still want a piece of hardware suitable for power usage, why not consider the built-for-entertainment HP Pavilion DM4-3002EA Beats Edition?

The HP Pavilion DM4-3002EA Beats Edition is currently available from Currys for £540 but, until tonight at least, can be purchased for just £496 thanks to a 10 per cent discount code (CUR499), which cuts the price by £54.

At 2kg, this refurbished laptop weighs just slightly more than an Ultrabook, and comes with an Intel Core i5-2450M processor clocked at 2.5GHz and capable of being turbo-boosted to 3.1GHz, supported by 3MB of L3 cache.

There’s also 6GB of RAM (an odd option given that you will have to swap a 2GB memory module for a 4GB one, should you upgrade), a 750GB hard drive, and a 14in HD LED-backlit BrightView display with a 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution powered by an AMD Radeon HD 7470M GPU,

Further features include a DVD writer, a card reader, three USB ports, a GbE connector, VGA, HDMI and DisplayPort ports, a full HD webcam, two internal speakers and, of course, quality audio playback with Beats Audio HP Triple Bass Reflex Subwoofer,

Rounding out the DM4-3002EA's key specifications is a (full size) island-style red backlit painted keyboard, while a 6-cell battery supports up to 5.5 hours of autonomous use, and there's even an integrated fingerprint reader for added 'wow' factor - and additional security.
