Are you a fan of Instagram and WordPress? If so, you're in luck. Now there's an easier way for you to add your Instagram masterpieces to your WordPress blog.
"We know many of you document and share your experiences with Instagram, so we're excited to announce that you can now embed images from Instagram on your blog," Cheri Lucas from WordPress wrote in a blog post. "As with other embeds, it's quite easy."
Here's how to do it: Copy the image URL from your Web browser's address bar while viewing the photo. Then, when you're editing a post or page, paste the URL on its own line. That's it.
The image will display on your blog, and automatically be linked to the URL of its original Instagram page. That way, a reader can click on the photo and be taken to its full-size version.
The URL will automatically embed the largest size of the image that fits into the content area of your blog. If you're not happy with that size you can change it with a bit of code. You can also display images side by side. For instructions, visit WordPress' Support page.
The new feature is only available right now on WordPress.com, not WordPress.org.
"It's another quick and easy way to enhance your blog," Lucas wrote. "Happy Instagramming!"
WordPress already allows users to embed Flickr galleries and YouTube videos.
